Omar Little - What Gives the Right Night-Terrors
After recently getting addicted to and going on a marathon of The Wire, I started to do a little searching about my favorite character, Omar Little. I ran across the typical interesting info, but think it's funny how everything leads back to politics. I stumbled on this article, in which a certain then-primary candidate discussed how he, too, was most intrigued by Omar on the show.
At first I just thought, "Well, I generally like Obama, and respect the hell out of the guy, so it's cool, though mostly inconsequential, that we share the same interest in such a unique character."
But then I smiled and was surprised that, in my constant slumming of Conservative websites trying to find meaning or reason behind their ideology, I hadn't come across this information long before. After all, the right takes pretty much any absolutely batshit retarded idea and runs with it until they can't look any more insane.
But here, Obama says that his favorite character on television is a black, homosexual, sociopath who robs the rich of their ill-gotten wealth and gives back to the poor heroin addicts in the community. That sounds like a meme they'd love to just fuck until it's dead. And not a single post about it?
I guess they blew their load on insane irrelevance with Joe the Plumber...

"We have an infection here and it's a Republican infection that's really spreading across this nation."
That is a quote from CA Lt. Governor Garamendi (found here). This is something I've been pondering for the past few days and frankly, it's the truth.
Republicans at this point are basically like Christian Scientists. No, not scientists who believe that Jesus died for our sins, but Christian Scientists, those wackjobs that, no matter what, will not seek medical attention. Instead, they pray.
This is like the current incarnation of the Republican party. Instead of getting the recommended dose of government stimulus, these idiots are praying that Tax Cuts will some how heal the broken budgets of state legislatures nation-wide.
They say they are standing on principle (which, for some reason, didn't stop them from running all the spending when they were in power). I say they are dangerous fanatics that we shouldn't allow anywhere near government.
